SecurityVibes.com and (ISC)2 join forces to help security professionals maintain their CISSP certification

Release detailing how CISSP certified members can earn CPE credits, just by interacting with their peers.

BERKSHIRE, UK, June 13, 2009 /Security PR News/ -- SecurityVibes.com announced today a partnership with the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc., (ISC)² to help members who are CISSP certified earn CPE credits towards their CISSP certification through active participation within the SecurityVibes community.

SecurityVibes is an intelligent platform that allows security and information systems professionals to collaborate and exchange ideas within a private setting. It also encourages community members to promote their expertise through the publication of articles, analysis and commentaries on emerging IT security and compliance topics and issues.

Through this partnership, CISSP certified members will earn CPE credits for each of their significant contributions. The first published article will give the individual 10 points, and then every hour after that spent posting content to the site will earn an additional one point.

Recognised entries include articles, analysis, reviews, comment and responding to member questions. This partnership has been initiated at the request of the CISSP certified members of SecurityVibes wishing to benefit from their involvement in the community in order to maintain their professional certification.

"SecurityVibes offers our profession a unique means of sharing and exchanging ideas with our peers about IT security and compliance. Maintaining a certification like the CISSP requires investing time in security activities, such as seminars or training sessions, outside of work time, in order to acquire the required CPEs every year. Due to the work load we face in our day-to-day jobs, we are left little time for these extra activities and being able to earn CPE credits while participating and contributing to the SecurityVibes community represents a real opportunity for me," said Richard Guidoux, CISO of Carrefour Hypermarkets.

"The contribution of CISSP members enriches the content of SecurityVibes with a professional component that only a CISO is able to bring to the community. My role as an editor becomes much simpler to accompanying their writing processes and add additional stories to support their content," said Jerôme Saïz, chief editor of SecurityVibes.com.
