EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — Over 300 entrepreneurs, event sponsors and service providers are expected to gather on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at The Omni Hotel in New Haven for the Third Innovation Pipeline Awards, a celebration of the most promising early stage technology companies in Connecticut and are considered to have the best potential to be a successful enterprise. This event is part of a larger event being held that day called the Cantor Colburn/CCAT Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit and includes a northeast angel investor summit sponsored by The Angel Investor Forum (www.angelinvestorforum.com/). The September 17th event honors emerging technology companies, with the highlight of the evening's program being the poster fair where
the119 "Companies to Watch" will present their products and services to attendees. The keynote speech was presented by Jeffrey Sohl, Director of the Center for Venture Research and Professor of Entrepreneurship and Decision Sciences at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire.

The awards event and the Innovation Pipeline program are sponsored by the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Cantor Colburn LLC, Connecticut Innovations, CNA Insurance, The Economic Development Corporation of New Haven, Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP, Fiondella Milone & LaSaracina, Microsoft Corporation, Open Solutions Inc. and Wellstone Insurance.
