Workplace Violence Grows at Deadly Pace. Fraud and Corruption Threaten Corporate Assets. Operational Risks at An All Time High. Gain Unique Insight From The Perspective of a Career FBI Agent.

Retired FBI Special Agent in Charge Michael Tabman publishes a new book, "Walking the Corporate Beat: Police School for Business People."

OVERLAND PARK, KS, December 07, 2009 /Security PR News/ -- Michael Tabman, 24-year FBI veteran and former police officer, has published a book that provides insight into business decisions based upon his 27 year career in law enforcement.

"Walking the Corporate Beat: Police School for Business People" is a gift to all executives and business professionals seeking new and effective ways to recognize and prevent problems. Readers will be intrigued by parallels between police work and business, and how basic law enforcement concepts resolve management problems. Whether the focus is managing risk or team building, defining company objectives or discussing ethics, the parallels are compelling. Tabman explains the similarities with candid descriptions and dramatic, and often humorous, vignettes from his days on the force. In an approach that captivates the reader, he juxtaposes such challenges of law enforcement and business as multitasking, conferences, relationships, and strategizing. The concept that rushing into a melee without stopping to think is as dangerous in police work as it is in business is one example of how this book will open new and energizing doors.

Michael Tabman is a retired FBI agent who advanced from a street agent investigating white collar crimes, violent crimes, organized crime, and drug trafficking to the Senior Executive Service. As Inspector in Charge, he led performance audits; as Special Agent in Charge, Tabman provided executive oversight of all operations, personnel, finance, legal, and media matters. His professional duties took him to Russia, Ukraine, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Israel. Academic credentials include being a CPA, holding a Master's degree, as well as becoming a Certified Protection Professional. The author served as a police officer and hostage negotiator on the Special Weapons and Tactics team. He is the founder of SPIRIT Asset Protection, LLC, a security and risk management consulting firm, with offices in Kansas City and Saint Louis.
