"Scareware" invades St. Louis; Jeff Computers issues security alert.

3. Beware of Twitter and Facebook scams. Don't click on suspicious links included in direct messages or emails.
4. Obtain anti-virus protection only from a reliable source, preferably a retailer. Getting anti-virus protection via download may be dangerous. Among top anti-virus brands, Jeff recommends AVG and Kaplinsky as the best.
5. If your computer does become infected by scareware or any other virus, seek repair sooner rather than later.
